Thank you for stopping by my
campaign website!

Please take a few minutes to browse my site and learn more about me.

Let me take a minute to tell you a little about the Sheriff of Galveston County. The Sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer for Galveston County. The responsibilities of the Office are complex and include the management of a 28 million dollar budget and oversight of more than 400 employees. The Sheriff's additional duties involve the operation of a 1171 bed correctional facility and operations of a multi-functional law enforcement agency. My 40 years of law enforcement experience and proven record of leadership as Chief of Police for the City of Galveston and Chief Deputy of the Sheriff's Office has properly prepared me to be your next Sheriff. I will utilize my set of core values which includes accountability, integrity and responsibility to honorably lead the men and women of the Galveston County Sheriff's Office.

Sincerely,

Chief Deputy Freddie Poor

THOUGHTS ON IKE SITUATION - September 29, 2008
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims who have suffered any losses during this crisis. The resilience that we have seen from the people in this county has been a humbling experience and it will impact us for the rest of lives. We want all of the city and county workers, emergency crews and law enforcement to know how much we appreciate their tireless efforts before, during and after this experience. They make us proud! Please refer to the Galveston County Sheriff's website for important information on hurricane recovery agencies. Take care and be safe.
