Election Day

Election Day Polling Places:

 Tuesday, November 4, 2008 – General Election

Polls are open from 7 am to 7 pm on Election Day.

Election Day polling locations are made available before each election. To locate your correct polling location, use your voter registration certificate. Your precinct number is printed on the front of your voter registration certificate. If you do not know your voter registration or precinct number, you may verify your status with the Voter Registrar’s office or by calling 409-766-2280.

Registered voters can vote with a voter registration card, driver’s license or any official photo ID, birth certificate, United States citizenship papers or passport, a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement or other official document that shows the name and address of the voter. Voting with your voter registration card is the quickest and safest method.  You must be in the Poll List.  You must register to vote by October 6, 2008!

NOTE TO FIRST-TIME VOTERS: If you are a first-time voter in Galveston County who registered to vote by mail and did not previously provide a copy of ID, you must show a form of ID other than a Voter Registration Certificate before voting.
