THOUGHTS ON IKE SITUATION - September 29, 2008
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims who have suffered any losses during this crisis. The resilience that we have seen from the people in this county has been a humbling experience and it will impact us for the rest of lives. We want all of the city and county workers, emergency crews and law enforcement to know how much we appreciate their tireless efforts before, during and after this experience. They make us proud! Please refer to the Galveston County Sheriff's website for important information on hurricane recovery agencies. Take care and be safe.

CANDIDATE QUESTIONAIRE - October 24, 2008
Read the responses from Chief Poor and his opponent. It will become very clear that his opponent has a very shallow understanding of the Sheriff's Office. Mr. Campbell only has the ability to state the obvious on issues in the county. These issues are important to everyone but it requires skill sets of leaders like chief Poor who have the credibility of knowing how to put systems together to make cases stick. Mr. Campbell does not have that - he has not even had any policing authority in this county for at least 15 years. Truth be told, he has been scrutinizing the GCSO for years for very selfish reasons. Look into fort Bend schools and look at the issues they have in regard to narcotics abuse. You will be less than impressed - scrutinize his record. Look into his relationship with the Sheriff's Office in Fort Bend. The record sets a pattern for what will happen in the future. Mr. Campbell might need to start paying more attention to his position over in another county.

CANDIDATE QUESTIONAIRES - October 24, 2008
Go to the Galveston Daily News and read the responses between Chief Poor and his opponent. It will become very clear that the opponent has a very shallow understanding of the Sheriff's Office. Truth be told, the opponent has had ZERO policing authority in this county for at least 15 years. It was his decision to leave - he's been busy proving himself to another county. Research the narcotic issues in the Fort Bend schools and you will be less than impressed with the opponent's record on getting his hands around that. In order to put "the law back into law and order" one must at least know how to build a case. Unfortunately, this is a major flaw in Mr. Campbell's credibilty. Too many people know that Mr. Campbell lacks this ability. Mr. Campbell's failure to recognize this one issue alone could set the GCSO back 15 years.
